AHS Annual Scholarship Announcement — 2008

The Arizona Hydrological Society (AHS) and the AHS Foundation will award three $3,000.00 student Scholarships in 2008. The purpose of this award is to encourage full-time students of hydrology, hydrogeology, or any other water-resource-related fields at any Arizona university or college to excel in their area of study. Any junior, senior or graduate student who fits this description can apply.

Applications for the Scholarship must be submitted by April 30, 2008.

The scholarship will be awarded during the 2008 Annual AHS Symposium, in Flagstaff this September. It will be based on several criteria:

Grade point average (based on at least two full-year courses)
Strength of recommendation letters (at least one)
Application letter describing the applicant's interests and career goals in hydrology and water resources
Background in hydrology and water resources related activities (provided in the applicant's resume)*
Degree of need (explaining the need and how the scholarship would help meet the need)

*Include this information in your resume. The application must include the following documents:

An application letter
Official transcripts (undergraduate and graduate if applicable)
Confidential recommendation letters (at least one)
